UN Peacekeeping Mission: Pakistani women are honored for their professionalism as UN peacekeepers

UN Secretary General, Department of Peace Operations, UNHQ, New York, presented the Gender Advocacy Award to two Pakistani female peacekeepers, Major Sania Safdar, who served in UN Peacekeeping Mission Cyprus, and Major Komal Masood, who served in the Central African Republic, in recognition of their exceptional performance and dedication to advancing UN ideals.

Particularly in terms of promoting women’s meaningful participation in peacekeeping operations within the mission, both officers made significant contributions to the mission’s efforts to promote peace and stability while serving in an international setting. They also displayed extraordinary professionalism and dedication.

The UN Peacekeeping Mandate, professionalism, and the hard work of Pakistani peacekeepers to have a positive impact on peacekeeping operations are all evidence of Pakistan’s unshakable dedication to this mandate.
