Conflicts between demonstrators and police officers resulted from the All Sindh Transport Association’s protest sit-in, which was initiated in opposition to the introduction of increased toll levies in Hyderabad.

When the demonstrators tried to override the police’s attempts to maintain order, armed with sticks and stones, the confrontation broke out. Local officials report that during the ensuing turmoil, thirteen police officers sustained injuries.

The police replied by firing into the air and using tear gas to scatter the restless crowd, which made the situation worse.

Police who had approached the demonstrators for talks were attacked by them, according to the senior superintendent of police (SSP), which caused the violence to break out. A deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and four station house officers (SHOs) were among the more than ten personnel hurt in the confrontation.

In order to maintain peace and order and resolve the protestors’ complaints, the authorities are apparently looking into the situation.
