Shahnawaz Dahani’s five-for and Mohammad Haris’ undefeated 49-ball 71 helped Pakistan defeat the United Arab Emirates by 114 runs on Wednesday at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, advancing them to the Emerging Asia Cup 2024 semi-final.

The Shaheens bowlers quickly confused the Emirati team, who were chasing a target of the United Arab Emirates, and they were swept out for 65 inside the 17th over. Rahul Chopra, the UAE captain, was the only one to put up a fight, stealing 18 balls of 20.

Shahnawaz Dahani (5-12), who went on to capture a five-for, demonstrated his mettle for the Shaheens.

Sufiyan Muqeem’s 2-17 was outstanding.

Abbas Afridi (1–12), Arafat Minhas (1–13), and Ahmed Daniyal (1–10) each got a scalp.

Earlier, the Shaheens lost two wickets for 48 after choosing to bat first. There was some opposition from Yasir Khan (25 off 13) and Omair Yousuf (21 off 11).

With three sixes and six boundaries, Mohammad Harjs scored a quiet 71 off 49 balls.

With caution, Qasim Akram scored a 23 off of 28 balls.

Haider Ali (32 off 17) remained unconquered and went on clobbered one boundary and three sixes in the death overs. He led Pakistan to a 20-over total of 179-4.

For UAE, with the exception of Mohammad Farooq, no bowler had managed to take a scalp.

Farooq had taken three wickets (3-27).

The player of the match award went to Dahani for leaving the UAE with a low score.
