IHC released a comprehensive ruling in the case of the missing person on Monday.
A written ruling spanning four pages was delivered by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
On behalf of the government and law enforcement, the attorney general promised the court that everyone who has been accused of going missing will, in all circumstances, return to their family.
The court has included the guarantee provided by the AG in its written ruling, which states that federal ministers serve on a committee investigating “enforced disappearance” and that the committee’s conclusions will be brought before the court following cabinet approval.
The Attorney General stated in court that a political resolution is the only way to end “enforced disappearance.” He further told the court that he had spoken with the “All Powerful Quarters” to find a permanent solution to this unsolvable issue.
In this respect, the complainant’s attorney, Imaan Zainab Mazari, has provided the court with a list of three individuals. At the following session, the court anticipated that the Attorney General will update it on these individuals’ whereabouts.
The comprehensive ruling further states that the DG IG’s request to establish a committee comprising law enforcement agencies to investigate “enforced disappearance” has been granted. By adding their second high-level officers, ISI, MI, and IB can form committees. Additionally, FIA and CTD representatives may be added to this body.
The ruling states that a new committee of DGs is being formed in order to alter past orders.
