It was announced that BASI would look into aviation accidents, while PAA would oversee all commercial airports.

Subsequently, the aviation authority will encompass all regulatory divisions, such as flight standards, pilot license, airport airspace, airworthiness, air transport, and aeromedical.

Recall that in 2023, a measure concerning the PCAA, PAA, and BASI was enacted by the parliament and sent to the federal administration.

A job announcement for the director general positions of the PCAA and PAA has also been released by the Ministry of Aviation.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) was split into two distinct companies last year by a special nine-member committee, as per a notification that was sent out.

According to the notice, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will split into the Bureau of Air Safety Investigation and the Pakistan Airport Authority.

The committee’s chairperson has been named as Shazia Rizvi, Joint Secretary-II of the Aviation Ministry.
