Senator Rubina Khalid, Chair of the Benazir Income Support Program, has underlined the importance of planting trees in order to combat environmental degradation.
On Independence Day, a new plantation effort was introduced on behalf of the Benazir Income Support Programme.
All provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, would be involved in the initiative.
By taking part in this program, 9.3 million worthy families and BISP personnel are helping to make Pakistan more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Speaking to members of the media on the occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for raising the funding for BISP.
She said that more low-income families will be able to take advantage of the programme thanks to this boost.
