“Currently, there is no possibility of a heatwave occurring in Karachi. However, the weather will continue to be hot for the next 10 days,” stated Sardar Sarfaraz. The chief meteorologist stated that the hot weather will be less intense due to a low level of humidity.
He informed that a Seabreeze is currently blowing in the city, reassuring that there is no cause for concern. Additionally, he mentioned that temperatures in Karachi will range from 36 to 38 degrees centigrade.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that the country is likely to encounter three heatwaves in different cities within the next 25 days.
The advice warns that the occurrence of elevated atmospheric pressure would lead to heatwave conditions across the majority of the country, particularly in Punjab and Sindh, starting from May 21. Furthermore, it predicts a severe heatwave from May 23 to 27.
During the period from May 21 to 23, daytime temperatures in Sindh and Punjab are expected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than the normal range. From May 23 to 27, temperatures are projected to be six to 8 degrees Celsius above the normal range.
