The Lahore High Court’s directives to recount in three national assembly constituencies have been challenged in petitions heard by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The Supreme Court’s three-member court rendered its decision today.
The Supreme Court, by a vote of 2-1, has approved all of the petitions filed against the Lahore High Court’s earlier decision regarding the recounting of ballots in three constituencies.
Zulfiqar Ahmed, Azhar Qayyum Nahra, and Abdurrahman Kanju filed the appeals.
Justice Shahid Aqeel Abbasi was the sole judge to deviate from the majority.
