The importance of politics and politicians in a country’s advancement was highlighted on Tuesday by Rana Sanaullah, the adviser to the prime minister on inter-provincial coordination.

Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, he warned against the dangers of deceit and stubbornness, arguing that they do not constitute real politics, and that nations can only advance through honest political involvement.

An unusual example was used by the minister to explain the concept of retribution in politics in his talk. One of his buddies was taking up all the bed in the room, so his other friend had to sleep on the floor. This was the narrative he was telling.

An example of how destructive actions can lead to a vicious cycle is when the second person takes advantage of a situation to get even by blocking the first person from using the bed.

Rana Sanaullah cried out for a change in mentality, calling out deceit and intransigence as the two worst enemies of progress in society. He demanded an end to these undesirable characteristics and pushed for a social upheaval to encourage more optimistic outlooks.

His statement, “Countries cannot move forward on the basis of lies,” emphasized the need for open and productive political discourse.

The speaker emphasized that political parties and politicians are the engine that drives national progress and called on the country to reevaluate and change its ways in order to attain sustainable development.
