Azma Bukhari, the Punjabi minister of information, declared on Wednesday that the Sikh Marriage Act had been approved.
“The Sikh Marriage Act will come into effect immediately,” Azma declared during a Lahore press conference alongside Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has always placed a high priority on the rights of minority communities, she emphasized, and the Punjab administration was dedicated to supporting them.
Preserving minority rights has been a pillar of Chief Minister Maryam’s government from the beginning, Minister for Minorities Affairs Ramesh Arora reaffirmed.
The PML-N won power in Punjab, he pointed out, and the process of establishing standards for Sikh marriages was started right away, even though they hadn’t been formed for the previous five years.
According to Arora, the media in Indian Punjab had taken notice of the move and acknowledged Pakistan as a country that is welcoming to minorities.
The Sikh Marriage Act had been passed, he said, and the Hindu Marriage Act’s regulations would be released shortly.
Arora highlighted a special gift given to 10,000 Christian households on Easter, highlighting CM Maryam’s initiatives for minorities. He also remembered how Maryam had gone to the temple of Baba Guru Nanak and helped harvest wheat there.
