PTI was “involved” directly in incidents on May 9: Report

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a special meeting of the federal cabinet, which is said to have ended. According to sources, the purpose of the meeting was to examine the findings of the committee that was established during the caretaker government’s time to look into the events of May 9.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar provided a report on the May 9 occurrences during the meeting, and according to sources, it was discovered that PTI was directly responsible for the violence that day.

The federal cabinet has chosen to draft legislation in relation to the May 9 incident in light of the findings.

All of the cabinet members insisted that the criminal cases against the May 9 violence’s perpetrators be pursued to their inevitable end.

The cabinet members questioned why the perpetrators of the May 9 incidents had not yet been punished, but those involved in the Capital Hill incident had received punishment.

Today is the first anniversary of May 9, the day that attacks on military sites began in response to the detention of PTI founder Imran Khan.

After agitated rioters vandalised military posts and other private and public buildings on May 9, 2023, the government launched a harsh crackdown on PTI founder Imran Khan and his party.

May 9 was designated as “Black Day” by the Pakistan Army in response to the violent protests.

The Rawalpindi district government declared on Wednesday that Thursday will be “Black Day” in a notification.

May 9 is marked solemnly to demonstrate our dedication to safeguarding our nation’s high-security assets and honouring the honour of our valiant armed personnel.

Various ceremonies were held for professors and students in all educational institutions to emphasise the significance of May 9 as “Black Day.”
