In order to prevent hostile elements from taking advantage of the situation for their own gain, he emphasized that the political parties, governmental institutions, and the people of AJK should all act properly.

At the Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Zardari shared these opinions with a group of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) members of the AJK Legislative Assembly who had come to visit him.

The president was briefed by the delegation of the recent events and regrettable advancements in Azad Kashmir.

The President told the members that the people’s requests should be met in accordance with the law and that he will bring up or discuss the people’s grievances with the Prime Minister of Pakistan in order to find a solution to the current situation.

The speaker emphasized that the socio-economic advancement of AJK should be given top priority, with particular attention paid to the advancement of health, education, tourism, and infrastructure.

He emphasized that the remote areas must be brought up to speed with the nation’s other developed sectors.

The president prayed for a speedy recovery for everyone injured in the recent skirmishes and expressed regret for the state of affairs, as well as condolences for the police officer’s tragic death.

During a nationwide wheel-jam and shutter-down strike, activists for a rights movement engaged in violent fights with the police in Azad Kashmir that resulted in the death of one police officer and multiple injuries.

After being dispatched to Islamgarh to break up a Muzaffarabad gathering organized by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), Sub-inspector Adnan Qureshi was shot in the chest and died as a result.

In most sections of the state, the JAAC, which is led by traders, has been advocating for the provision of electricity at the cost of hydropower generation in AJK, the elimination of the elite class’s privileges, and subsidized wheat flour.

A magistrate’s car near the Poonch-Kotli route was among the several vehicles smashed by the aggressive protestors. Additionally, all AJK businesses—including restaurants, shops, trade centers, offices, and schools—remained closed.
