Passports will no longer be granted to asylum seekers overseas!

Pakistanis requesting shelter overseas would no longer be able to obtain passports thanks to an order from Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s ministry.

The action is reportedly intended to improve safety and security at the federal level.

The choice was made in an attempt to stop Pakistani nationals from leaving the country without authorization while posing as asylum seekers. People who, for whatever reason, apply for refuge overseas will not be able to get a Pakistani passport, according to reports.

Furthermore, it has been made clear by the Interior Ministry that passports belonging to people who are currently applying for asylum overseas will not be revoked or renewed. In order to protect national interests, this judgment demonstrates the government’s commitment to upholding stringent control over the passport issuance procedures.

The Interior Ministry has sent an official letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other pertinent institutions to execute the new policy as directed by Minister Naqvi.

Though some have praised the decision as a proactive step to avoid passport misuse and safeguard national security, others have expressed mixed feelings about it.
