With the election of a new administration, passport prices have increased by an astounding 50%, a decision that has sparked widespread uproar.
A basic 36-page passport for five years would now cost people Rs 4,500 under the amended pricing schedule, a significant increase from the previous Rs 3,000. In a similar vein, the same category’s urgency charge increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500.
