The comprehension was achieved at high-level discussions between the two nations in Islamabad today.
The Pakistani delegation was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, while the Turkish side was led by its Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
As per the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the two parties assessed the advancements made in their collaborative efforts and shared their perspectives on regional and global issues that are of shared concern.
During a joint news conference with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar announced that the two countries had plans to convene the next session of the Pakistan Turkiye High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in the near future.
The deputy prime minister highlighted the longstanding history of collaboration between Pakistan and Turkey in the field of defence programmes.
Dar stated that they are currently engaged in multiple collaborative projects and are consistently providing mutual assistance to protect their territorial sovereignty and combat terrorism.
He stated that the two nations had consistently provided mutual assistance on fundamental matters and aided each other amid natural disasters.
Ishaq Dar expressed his appreciation to Turkiye for its unwavering and persistent assistance to the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He affirmed that Pakistan will persist in supporting the rightful cause of the people of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan and Turkiye are two distinct countries, however they share a common nationality. He stated that a deep and intimate tie between our two nations existed before the formation of Pakistan.
The Turkish Foreign Minister stated that Pakistan is a crucial ally, and our collaboration contributes to the maintenance of regional peace and security. He described this as an indomitable bond of friendship and brotherhood deeply embedded in the annals of history.
He stated that Turkiye supports Pakistan in their battle against terrorism.
The Turkish Foreign Minister characterised his meeting with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as productive, stating that both parties have made a fundamental commitment to enhance their cooperation not only in commerce, but also in defence, investment, banking, research, and technology.
The two Foreign Ministers expressed profound apprehension regarding the state of affairs in Gaza. Their main focus was on achieving a lasting cessation of hostilities in Gaza and ensuring the delivery of essential aid to the Palestinian population.
