According to forecasts made by the National Disaster Management Authority, the nation will continue to experience thundershowers and monsoon rains through August 3.
Monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal are expected to enter the country’s central and southern regions on July 27 and are expected to stay there until August 3, 2024, according to a meteorological alert released by the Disaster Management Authority.
In addition, it stated that from July 28 to August 4, substantial to extremely high rainfall is predicted in the upper catchment areas of the nation’s western and eastern rivers due to this system.
Flash flooding is predicted in northeastern Punjab, including the nullahs of river ravines, Chenab catchment areas, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the weather advisory.
To lessen the potential effects of flooding and extreme weather, the NDMA has instructed all pertinent departments to adopt the required safety measures.
