The Punjab anti-corruption establishment (ACE) revealed alleged corruption worth millions in the name of flour subsidy under the Ramazan package by mill owners in Rawalpindi.
Cases were filed against flour mills owned by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders following the conclusion of a Punjab ACE investigation into alleged corruption in flour subsidy payments under the Ramazan relief package.

A case was filed against former PML-N member of provincial assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Riaz, who controlled one of the flour mills implicated in the alleged corruption, while a second case was filed against the mill owner, Shahid Zaheer, another PML-N MPA.

It was discovered that millions of rupees in corruption had been committed through flour subsidies provided under the Ramazan package during the time of former Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the First Investigation Report (FIA), the subsidy was provided for 112,671 metric tons of flour. Thirteen officers from the provincial food department were also named in the investigation.
