According to sources, the tragedy occurred on the National Highway in the jurisdiction of Saikhat police station in Matiari, when a coach traveling from Karachi to Punjab collided with a trailer, killing five people and wounding over ten.
After being notified, rescue teams arrived at the scene and transported the deceased and injured to a local hospital.
Earlier in May, at least 20 people were murdered and 21 others were injured after a bus crashed down a deep ravine in Diamer, a city in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to sources, the accident occurred on the Karakoram Highway near Diamer’s Yashukhaldas district. The bus was traveling from Rawalpindi to Hunza when the driver lost control and plummeted into a canyon.
Rescue teams arrived on the scene and transported the dead and injured to Chilas hospital. According to rescue officials, the death toll could increase much higher because the majority of the injured were in severe condition.
