During a frank podcast interview, she discussed a range of social topics, including the derogatory remarks aimed at people who are overweight.
Mathira highlighted Pakistan’s distinctiveness in its fixation on fair-skinned heroines who are required to possess slender waists and a size zero physique. She emphasised the fact that each individual’s physique is unique and that criticising someone’s weight is both needless and detrimental.
The actress highlighted that women, specifically, have several weight-related obstacles as a result of hormonal fluctuations and menstrual cycles. She condemned the inclination of certain television personalities to display images of persons and make remarks about their weight, while encouraging viewers to have a greater comprehension of the intricacies involved.
Mathira emphasised that a body weight of 100 kg can be considered within the range of normal for certain individuals, and she advocated against engaging in body shaming. She urged individuals of all genders to prioritise their professional pursuits instead of being preoccupied with their body weight or yielding to cultural expectations.
Mathira specifically pushed young men to prioritise their jobs before considering marriage. She contended that attaining professional success would empower them to provide improved support for their prospective families.
