Due to excessive rain and landslides in Kohistan and Diamer, the Karakoram Highway is blocked, and all traffic has been rerouted via alternate routes.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), road clearance operations are underway and are scheduled to resume tomorrow, Wednesday.

The NDMA is in communication with the relevant authorities and keeps a close eye on the situation.

In the mountainous areas of district Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Battagram, where a continuous sequence of rain showers and occasional snowfall have been seen since the early hours of the morning, the fourth spell of snowfall of the current winter season began on Sunday.

Many tourist spots, including Galyat, Thandyani, Shogran, Kaghan, and Naran, where there is a lot of snowfall and rain, are being impacted by the weather phenomena.

Locals in district Abbottabad report that snowfall in Thandyani, Nathiagali, Ayubia, Dongagali, and Shogran in district Mansehra has reached four inches, while in district Naran, snowfall has reached 10 inches.

Shabir Khan, the director general of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), has ordered that employees be stationed in certain places with equipment to help and orient visitors and residents.

Many places have issued a state of high alert, and equipment has been sent in to lessen the effects of the bad weather, which has made the steep terrain extremely chilly.
