In order to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking, Pakistan and Italy have reached an agreement on a coordinated and efficient action plan.

At a meeting in Rome, Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi discussed this. Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, attended the conference as well.

Each party also committed to working together to combat drug trafficking.

All possible measures have been taken, according to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, to prevent unauthorized entry of Pakistanis into Italy and to combat drug trafficking. The anti-drug mafia and human trafficking movement has a zero tolerance approach.

Italy stands to gain a great deal from Pakistan’s talented labor force, according to Chaudhry Salik Hussain. He stressed how deterring illegal immigration will be the early completion of the Skilled Manpower Agreement.

Pakistan will work with Italy on issues related to border security and the trafficking of people and drugs, according to the interior minister of Italy.
