After the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) filed a contempt of court suit, Justice Saman Riffat issued notices to the interior secretary, chief commissioner, deputy commissioner, and Islamabad IGP.
The deputy commissioner refused to grant the PTI permission to organise a public rally, even though a court ruling had permitted it. The PTI had filed a contempt of court action for this reason.
The party has not been granted permission to organise protests in Islamabad, according to PTI’s lawyer Shoaib Shaheen.
The PTI filed an appeal for contempt of court, he claimed, and the deputy commissioner then sent the rejection decision.
Notices were sent to the chief commissioner, deputy commissioner, home secretary, and head of the Islamabad police force, and Justice Saman Riffat postponed the hearing till Wednesday.
