A spokesman for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) stated in a statement that the agency had observed a concerning rise in WhatsApp hacking instances and that hackers are mostly targeting accounts belonging to women.
According to the FIA’s cybercrime wing, hackers are accessing accounts without authorization by utilizing contemporary techniques.
The Federal Insurance Administration (FIA) alerted the public that hackers were gaining access to accounts by tricking victims into divulging personal information or downloading malicious software, such as ransomware, through phishing, a type of social engineering fraud.
In order to secure their accounts, the organization recommended WhatsApp users to enable two-step verification and to be wary of dubious messages and links.
The FIA’s advice also advised against opening messages and avoiding downloads, films, or images sent from unfamiliar numbers.
Additionally, it advised the WhatsApp user to frequently check and adjust their privacy settings. The organization requested that citizens contact the closest FIA circle or report compromised accounts by calling the helpdesk at 1991.

This update was released not too long after an Android smartphone version of the same feature was unveiled. Users of WhatsApp may now communicate text, voice, GIF, video, and image messages via status updates from any connected device.
The most recent WhatsApp beta for Mac version 24.11.73, which is accessible through the TestFlight program, claims that beta testers can now update their status straight from the Mac’s status bar.
