In an effort to boost the nation’s economy, the Pakistani government has begun an anti-smuggling campaign. Targeted by this operation is the smuggling of necessities like oil, food, sugar, fertilizer, and fertilizer, which causes shortages for the general populace.
Authorities countrywide seized 3,252 cigarette stocks, 58 fabric bales, 0.959 million gallons of Iranian oil, 4 metric tons of grain, and 126.4 metric tons of sugar between September 1 and September 8.
There were 2,154 cigarette stocks seized in Quetta and 1,098 stocks confiscated in Karachi. Furthermore, four metric tons of flour and 120 metric tons of sugar were seized in Multan, and 6.4 metric tons of wheat were also seized in Quetta. 0.002 million liters of Iranian oil were found in Multan, 0.064 million liters in Karachi, and 0.893 million liters in Quetta.
In addition, 48 textile bales in Quetta and 10 in Multan were found.
Since September 1, 2023, the nation has confiscated 16,636 million gallons of Iranian oil, 4,337,251 cigarette stocks, 151,292 fabric bales, 3,470.106 metric tons of grain, 35,091.71 metric tons of sugar, and 13,088.75 metric tons of fertilizer.
