After productive conversations with Jamaat-e-Islami, a number of concerns were settled in writing, according to Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
The demands of Jamaat-e-Islami are in line with the government’s objectives, he added, updating the media on recent talks with the organization in Rawalpindi.
Tomorrow evening, he continued, is the scheduled follow-up meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami.
The freedom of Jamaat-e-Islami to demonstrate is acknowledged as a democratic right, according to the Minister of Information.
Further, he verified that the party’s Sialkot laborers who were arrested had been freed.
Drawing attention to the favorable results and advancements achieved in the talks, the minister underscored Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s resolve to lower power costs, noting that customers consuming up to 200 units of electricity during June, July, and August will receive a sizeable 50 billion rupee subsidy.
Attahullah Tarar declared that a task team will be established to examine and resolve the issues raised by worries about independent electricity providers. Premier Sharif is actively supervising these steps, he assured us.
