Fruitful Anti-Smuggling Campaign: PM Promises Legal Action Against Smugglers & Facilitators

People who engage in smuggling will not be permitted to negatively impact Pakistan’s economy, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. In order to stop smuggling, he stated, we need to make sure that current technology is used. He promised that smugglers and those who assist them would face legal consequences.

He was chairing a review discussion about Islamabad’s efforts to stop smuggling.

He expressed his satisfaction with the decrease in smuggling that has occurred as a consequence of the measures implemented by pertinent institutions.
He stated that in order to give the residents of border areas better employment prospects, a comprehensive plan should be developed and presented, and the FBR, Ministry of Interior, and other institutions should work together even more.

An update on the fight against human trafficking was provided to the prime minister. He was informed that the Ministry of Interior is spearheading a national drive to stop smuggling and that cigarettes, mobile phones, gold, tea, clothing, necessities, tires, and auto parts are among the commodities that are being successfully stopped.
