The Convention on Nuclear Security has picked Pakistan as its chair.
The Chairman of Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Faizan Mansoor, has been unanimously elected by the contracting parties to the Convention on Nuclear Safety.
At the tenth review meeting of the Convention on Nuclear Safety, he will serve as president.
Furthermore, Pakistan has been chosen to serve as the country group’s rapporteur and vice chair.
The election represents a vote of confidence and acknowledgement of Pakistan’s proficiency and stellar track record in nuclear safety by CNS’s contracting parties and the global community.
Up to April 2026, or until the tenth review meeting of the Convention on Nuclear Safety is concluded, Pakistan will serve as President.
