Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, expressed her disappointment with the way the province’s pricing control committees were operating.

The price control committees allegedly failed to impose the government’s rates on consumable goods in the marketplaces.

According to the reports, middlemen and bureaucracy are to blame for the fruits and vegetables being sold in the marketplaces at higher rates.

The province’s price control committee structure will be redesigned by the chief minister.

After the system is redesigned, “only one officer would be held responsible for inflation and higher prices in the markets,” the sources claimed.
