The judge issued an arrest warrant for Swati because he had been consistently missing the case’s court appearances.

It is important to remember that on November 27, of last year, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senator Azam Swati was detained by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with a case involving offensive tweets directed at state institutions.

Following contentious tweets criticizing state institutions, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was apprehended by a three-person squad from his farmhouse in Islamabad’s Chak Shahzad neighborhood.

Azam Swati, a former federal minister and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, had an arrest warrant issued by a special court earlier over a contentious tweet.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been instructed by Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand to apprehend Azam Swati and bring him before his court.
