The Afghan consul general stated on Friday that it was up to federal governments to pursue direct negotiations, which appears to be a blow to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur’s plan.
Afghan Consul General Mohibullah Shakir, in an interview with Dunya News, stated that the federal governments had the duty and mandate to conduct talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan, adding that these talks fell outside the purview of local governments.
“Two significant neighboring countries are Afghanistan and Pakistan. The border separating the two nations is 2,700 kilometers long.
Afghanistan just finished a war. We are prepared to support Pakistan in every way we can to bring about peace in the area,” he declared.
He asserted that nations could only prosper.
