Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Ali Gohar Baloch, filed a request for a recount in the NA-97 Faisalabad constituency, but the Supreme Court denied it.
The count petition was heard by a two-judge panel made up of Justice Ameen-ud-din Khan and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
The court asked to see the date on the recount request when it was presented during the hearing.
But the request made to the Returning Officer could not be verified by Baloch’s attorney.
Furthermore confirming that no such request had been received was the Pakistani Election Commission.
According to the Election Commission’s Director General of Law, there is no record of this kind of request. Ali Gohar Baloch’s appeal was thus denied by the court.
