According to a news statement from the party secretariat, the MPA-elect met with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPP Women’s Wing President Faryal Talpur at Zardari House.
Amjad Khawaar, Chaudhry Hayat Mehmood, and Shahid Hasan Khan, the bearers of PPP tickets, were also present at the meeting.
With 61745 votes, Ameer Muhammad Khan was victorious in the PP-89 race as an independent candidate. Abdul Majeed Khan, the candidate for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), received 37265 votes to place runner-up.
Aijaz Khan Swati, the candidate supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and who won the General Elections of 2024 from PS-88 Malir, also declared his intention to join the PPP earlier on February 14.
Aijaz Khan Swati declared in a video message that he is unreservedly joining the PPP in the hopes that the party led by Bilawal will really strive for the welfare and prosperity of his citizens.
He said, “I am joining the PPP for the benefit of my constituents.”
PTI-supported With 17580 votes, Aijaz Khan Swati of PS-88 became victorious, trailed by Muzammil Shah of PPP with 12762 votes.
