A plan to draw in foreign direct investment for the construction of information technology infrastructure is reportedly being undertaken, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Addressing a three-person Asia Internet Coalition delegation in Islamabad under the direction of Managing Director Jeff Paine, he stated that the government is promoting the development of the essential artificial intelligence-based infrastructure.

With regard to artificial intelligence infrastructure, he vowed to elevate Pakistan to the forefront of the region.

In order to guarantee that the nation has access to the fastest and most reliable internet connection possible, the prime minister indicated that the government is taking action.

Under the Digital Pakistan efforts, he remarked, the entire government system is going digital.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that the Federal Board of Revenue’s digitalization will be a turning point in the economy’s transition to an automated system and digital framework.

Additional topics covered in the meeting were data security, internet content code of conduct, and tactics for combating cybercrimes.

Meeting participants were informed that discussions about the draft personal data protection bill are now taking place with all relevant parties.
