While outlining the extent of the party’s support for the PML-N, the PPP leader declared, “We will extend support to the PML-N in government formation and within the Parliament.”
Bukhari stated that the Speaker’s post will remain with the PML-N, but the Senate chairman will come from the PPP, citing the power sharing agreement.
“We want all parties in the parliament to become part of the government,” the speaker declared.
“We had no option after the PTI’s founder’s statement,” Bukhari declared. “Without giving up,” he said, “we should consider improving the nation.”
On Tuesday, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) agreed on a “power-sharing formula” in order to establish a government in the centre.
The PPP leader said, “We will extend support to the PML-N in government formation and within the Parliament,” summarising the breadth of the party’s backing for the PML-N.
Citing the power sharing deal, Bukhari said that the Speaker’s position will stay with the PML-N but that the Senate chairman will come from the PPP.
The speaker said, “We want every party in the parliament to join the government.”
After the PTI founder’s remarks, Bukhari said, “We had no choice.” “Without giving up,” he declared, “we should consider improving the nation.”
