At the Islamabad High Court’s latest hearing on Fawzia Siddiqui’s application for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s recovery and repatriation, the government announced that it would be sending a delegation to the United States.
The government’s resolve to resolving Dr. Siddiqui’s position was emphasized in the announcement made by the Additional Attorney General.
The delegation will consist of a wide range of individuals, including senators, doctors, retired and active military personnel, former and current lawmakers, and Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui herself. It was also debated in court, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has shared a draft for a Prisoner Transfer Agreement with the United States.
When asked by Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq when he could expect a response on the Prisoner Transfer Agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative said that one might be forthcoming.
It has also been requested by Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui that Aafia Siddiqui have a medical examination.
The Prime Minister has given his approval for the group to travel to the United States, according to Zainab Janjua, a court assistant. In addition, Aafia Siddiqui’s family and Dr. Fawzia have asked that doctors be sent from Pakistan to treat her.
