At least 12 people were killed and 25 injured when a horrifying explosion tore through an election office in the Khanozai PB-47 seat in the Pishin district on Wednesday.

The terrible attack, which targeted the election office of Asfandyar Khan Kakar, a candidate running for this constituency and a former provincial minister, was verified by Levies sources.

Casualties and Rescue Efforts: Eight people were confirmed dead and ten more injured, ranging in severity, from the explosion, according to preliminary reports. Later, according to Levies authorities, the dead toll was changed to 12, with at least 25 wounded.

Rescue crews are working hard to get the injured and dead to the Pishin DHQ Hospital so they can receive emergency care.

The seriously injured will be sent to Quetta, according to the assistant commissioner Pishin.

Target and Motivation: At this point, it’s unknown exactly who or what the attack is targeting. Even though Asfandyar Kakar’s election office was the site of the explosion, it is imperative to look into whether he was the intended target or whether the incident was meant to sabotage the upcoming general elections.

Samaa TV was informed by the Khanozai assistant commissioner that the explosive substance was mounted on a motorbike.

Six individuals have been slain, based on the information that is currently available, according to interim Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai. Levies and police officers, he claimed, had been stationed around the explosion scene.

He stated that the polls in Balochistan will go as scheduled, despite the regrettable tragedy, and claimed that the bomb was an effort to disrupt the process.

Increased Security Concerns: This event highlights Pakistan’s unstable security environment, especially in the days before Thursday’s much awaited national elections. In order to stop more violence and guarantee that the elections are held in a calm manner, authorities are probably going to tighten security around the nation.

Investigation Underway: Levies investigators are gathering information, putting together the timeline of events, and looking into the explosion. Thus yet, no organisation has taken credit for the attack.

ECP observes

After learning about the explosion, the chief secretary and top police officer of Balochistan were contacted by the electoral commission to request a report right away. It also mandated that the culpable parties face swift consequences from the government.

There are 296,840 people living in the PB-47 Pishin 1 constituency, 104,156 of them are registered voters.

Kakar is a contender for this provincial assembly seat, alongside Maulvi Kamaluddin of the JUI-F, Abdul Bari of the ANP, Aemal Khan of the PML-N, Fareedullah Khan Panezai of PkMAP, and a number of independents.
