Details indicate that on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman called a meeting of the province parliament.
According to those with knowledge of the event, the newly elected Punjabi administration will submit a budget for one month in accordance with Article 125 of the 1973 Constitution. The one-month budget will include the estimated revenue and expenses.
In accordance with the sitting’s agenda, supplemental funding would also be submitted to the provincial parliamentarians for approval.
The budget for the month of presentation would be followed by the budget for the final three months of the current fiscal year in April. According to the sources, following February 23, all payments of any kind were discontinued by the Finance Department.
Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan will preside over the meeting and the session will be prorogued after the approval of the budget.
