Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab, ordered the principal, medical superintendent (MS), additional medical superintendent (AMS), and administrative officer of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital to be suspended and arrested after a four-hour investigation into the tragic deaths of eleven children (AMS).

Inquiry reports and CCTV footage pertaining to the incident were examined by Chief Medical Officer Maryam Nawaz herself.

Health department personnel were chastised by Punjab’s chief minister, who emphasized the need for responsibility and urged them to show compassion for the bereaved parents.

Examining the situation further, it was discovered that the hospital’s fire extinguishers were not updated even though they had expired in April.

Fire extinguishers were reportedly not used in emergencies and were instead seen as ornamental things, according to sources.

Violence broke out between physicians and police, and things are still tense at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Umar, Dr. Usman, MS Teaching Hospital Akhtar Mehboob, Principal Medical College Imran Hasan, and other doctors were detained by the police, but they were resisted.

Police subsequently arrested the four accused officials after using batons against the doctors who were protesting.
