People who break the law, cause damage to government property, or harm or kill law enforcement personnel should be held accountable by the correct legal system, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stressed.

A weekly report on the legal actions being taken against individuals responsible for instigating mayhem must be filed, the prime minister said while chairing a review meeting in Islamabad on the status of the task force looking into the protest violence on November 24.

In addition to announcing intentions to create a modern riot control force in Pakistan, he denounced the demonstrators for storming the capital while the head of state of Belarus.

To satisfy international standards, a forensic laboratory will also be added to the Islamabad Safe City Project.

Evidence, including firearms and ammunition, had been gathered from the crime scene and will be transferred for forensic analysis, according to a briefing.
