An airliner operating out of Lahore, Pakistan, crashed in Karachi on May 22, 2020. Two people on the ground and the crew were among the 99 passengers who lost their life in the horrific aviation catastrophe. The crash claimed the lives of only two persons.

The accident’s cause was determined to be human error in the final investigation report. The air traffic controller had alerted the pilot about the plane’s unusual altitude four times prior to the landing, it was stated.

The aircraft’s two pilots and the air traffic controllers were found to be lacking in harmony and communication.

The first landing attempt, which saw the engines striking the runway and catching fire, was carried out by the two pilots without engaging the landing gears, according to the study. According to the investigation, the pilots were not notified of the engine fire by the air traffic controller.

The aircraft’s engine failure interrupted the electricity supply, making it unable to record the last four minutes of data.

Both the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) and the Pakistan Insurance Authority (PIA) were held administratively liable for the accident, according to the study.
