The current heatwave in Karachi might end by June 2

The next 24 hours will continue to be extremely hot and muggy, according to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz. The Met Office predicted that while the temperature will likely surge to 43 degrees today, the heat would still be felt around 46 to 48 degrees.

As to the weather department, there are winds coming into the city from the southwest direction at a speed of nine kilometers per hour. There has been a 78% ratio of humidity.

Sardar Sarfaraz said that Karachi would experience hot, muggy weather for the next two days due to the heatwave. With a strong sunny day, he said, “hot winds will blow.”

He stated that Sunday, June 02, will mark the end of the heatwave, although June will still be hot and muggy.

In Karachi and other parts of Sindh, the Met Office predicted on Wednesday that the heatwave conditions will last till June 1.

With highs expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius starting on May 29, Karachi and other coastal parts of Sindh could experience a heatwave.

A Heatwave Early Warning Center of the PMD issued an alert stating that “Heatwave conditions likely to grip Karachi division, Thatta, Badin and Sujawal districts from Wednesday till 1st June with daytime maximum temperatures rising to 40-42 C in Karachi and 42-44 C in Thatta, Badin and Sujawal districts.”

Jacobabad recorded its maximum temperature of 52 degrees Celsius on Tuesday of previous week.

The announcement of a significant decrease in petroleum prices by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is expected to alleviate the financial strain on customers.

The cost of a litre of gasoline will drop by ten rupees.

Prices for diesel and kerosene oil are expected to decrease by 13.6 and 11 rupees per litre, respectively.

In addition, the cost of a gallon of light diesel will decrease by 13 rupees.

This move is a component of the government’s continuous initiatives to lower living expenses and assist households all throughout the nation.
