The Punjab Food Authority has initiated a significant operation against food adulteration in Head Marala, Sialkot, led by Director General Muhammad Asim Javaid.

PFA Enforcement Teams conducted inspections of 14 food establishments, levying fines amounting to Rs 130,000 on seven establishments for contraventions of the Punjab Pure Food Regulations.

The examinations uncovered filthy conditions, such as stagnant water and a proliferation of insects in processing facilities.

Food products were discovered stored in non-food grade materials at wedding venues, and numerous food service operators did not supply medical documents for their employees.

The PFA teams also noted inadequate sanitary measures at fish hotels.
