ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan Peoples` Party leader Sharjeel Memon has been arrested at Islamabad Airport immediately after his arrival, confirmed Minister for Works and Services Imdad Ali Pitafi.
According to details available with Geo News, the member Sindh assembly arrived in the country from Dubai in the wee hours of Sunday along with the provincial ministers; Mukesh Chawla, Imdad Pitafi, Fayyaz Ali Butt and Nawab Taimur Talpur.
According to sources privy to the development, at least six plain-cloth personnel under National Accountability Bureau`s deputy director of crime wing took Memon into his custody from the airport immediately when he came outside from the flight EK 614 which arrived at Benazir International Airport.
The sources further informed that the personnel have shifted Memon to an undisclosed location.
Speaking to Geo News, Minister Imdad Ali Pitafi informed that Memon on the occasion resisted his arrest, further adding that the former minister had bail before arrest from Islamabad High Court and was scheduled to appear before it on Monday.
