The world community has been urged by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari to take concrete steps to put an end to egregious human rights abuses in India’s illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir and Palestine.
They vehemently denounce in their individual statements on the occasion of International Human Rights Day today the ethnic cleansing and genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the crimes being carried out by the Indian military in the illegally occupied Indian territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the President, the Pakistani Constitution ensures that every citizen has fundamental rights, and we are committed to promoting human rights in order to empower our people.
Asif Ali Zardari stated his belief that protection of people’s rights is essential to creating a peaceful and wealthy nation and that democracy, peace, freedom, and human rights are all intertwined.
The prime minister stated in his speech that the principles of human values have been urged to be followed by everyone in our holy religion, Islam. He claimed that in order to defend human rights, the Pakistani government had passed several laws.
