According to the reports, Mohsin Naqvi would take over as chair of the ACC in January 2025 after Pakistan was granted permission to do so. At the January 2024 ACC conference in Bali, a decision was made.

In the meantime, Jay Shah, the ACC’s current president, received a one-year extension, ending in January 2025.

For those who do not know, Mohsin Naqvi is the current chairman of the PCB and the Interior Minister of Pakistan, two important roles.

In the meantime, Bangladesh will host the Men’s Asia Cup in ODI format in 2027 and India will host the event in T20 format in 2025.

Six teams—Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka—will compete in both Men’s Asia Cup editions. A sixth team will be chosen following the conclusion of the qualifying round.

When the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) released the Invitation for Expressions of Interest (IEOI) for the sponsorship rights document on Saturday, the development was verified.

The invitation to submit an IEOI for ACC Sponsorship Rights between 2024 and 2027 is sent out to interested parties in the letter.

The statement also made clear that all information, including schedules, dates, formats, and places, is tentative and is subject to change at the ACC’s sole discretion without liability.

Notably, the six-team competition is anticipated to take place in September of the following year, following the conclusion of the nation’s monsoon season. However, the official calendar for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 has not yet been determined.
