On Wednesday, the Karachi matriculation exams got again underway. Nonetheless, a number of problems that still afflict the educational system have surfaced as a result of the return to test rooms.

The painful truth that students must face is having to sit through scorching exam centers as students from all across the city get ready to take their examinations. The intense heat is making it difficult for pupils to focus on their assignments as the temperature continues to rise.

News that has come in from different testing locations, including Jacob Line, where kids are having problems with broken fans and power outages, compounds the problem. As a result of the extreme difficulties of taking the tests in such circumstances, the students have expressed their concerns.

The officials in charge of the exams’ organization appear to have lacked planning and foresight, which has left many feeling disappointed and frustrated.

Following Sindh’s extreme heatwave alarm on May 20, the Board of Secondary Education in Karachi declared that the current matriculation exams would be postponed. Exams were postponed in order to protect students’ safety and wellbeing; they were originally set to take place between May 21 and May 27.

In response to the minister of education boards’ directions, which stressed the need to shield pupils from the intense heat, the tests were decided to be postponed.
