Fazlur Rehman cautions against stopping talks about a constitutional amendment due to “pressure” from members

Later on Thursday night in Islamabad, the JUI-F chairman added, “We are engaging with the government with absolute open-heartedness,” while speaking with the media alongside PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan and other party officials.

Regretfully, we’re hearing of intimidation against PTI and BNP members as well as pressure being used to their members.

Fazlur Rehman issued a warning, saying, “If these tactics continue, they will be forced to end negotiations.”

Constitutional revisions cannot be made without including a significant opposition group, according to Fazlur Rehman. The objections must be considered and any adjustment must be approved by a unanimous vote, he continued.

Asserting that PTI has taken a good attitude and accepting what is practical, Maulana decided to carry on with the consultations today (Friday).

In addition to including members from the bar associations, he urged the government and PPP to enhance participation in the special committee.

It is apparent that the administration is not taking its reconciliatory strategy seriously, as stated by the JUI-F head, who stated that stakeholders cannot be ignored.

On this particular occasion, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar stated that they had pledged to working together from the beginning and had entered the constitutional amendment talks with an open mind.

He voiced his worries about their assembly members being kidnapped and harassed once more. To make sure the document gets brought to us, we have attended every meeting in spite of these problems, he continued.

Going along with Maulana, we have been a part of this process,” Gohar expressed grave concerns about the actions of the government. The usefulness of legislation is called into doubt nevertheless, if persecution of our members persists. We shall abstain from the process if the government plans to enact legislation without consulting us.
