The first meeting of the steering group to enhance the children’s immunization program was presided over by Dr. Mukhtar Bharath, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Health.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of National Health Services, Dr. Mukhtar Bharath stated that children who had not gotten routine vaccinations were responsible for 60% of this year’s polio cases, which has resulted in a rise in the severity of illnesses in youngsters.

In order to guarantee that every child receives polio and other disease vaccines, Dr. Bharath instructed federal and provincial authorities to act immediately.

He reiterated the commitment to eradicating polio from the country.
