Energy Minister Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, the federal minister, stated that the government will lower the power tariff by 2.37 rupees per unit if NEPRA rules in favor of our petitions, refuting the notion that it has increased.

Awais Leghari, speaking at a press conference, stated that NEPRA sets power rates every three months and that the body heard petitions yesterday.

Leghari had earlier told the media that users utilizing between 201 and 500 units of energy will receive a rebate of Rs. 14 per unit from Punjab’s electricity distribution corporations.

He declared that Punjab’s government would use its own funds to pay for the assistance.

This assistance has been applied to the electricity bills for August and September, according to the Minister.

Customers who paid their bills in August will be granted two reliefs in September.

On the other hand, customers who have not yet received their bills will receive consistent assistance in August and September.

Reiterating that intended consumers would receive relief in a transparent manner is Awais Leghari.
