A nationwide anti-polio campaign began in several regions of the nation.
Anti-polio drops will be given to almost 44 million children during the campaign.
In Punjab, an anti-polio campaign has already begun and will run until December 22. During that time, 80,000 mobile teams will deliver anti-polio drops to more than 23.3 million youngsters.
Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad are among the important districts where the campaign will continue. In Punjab, one polio case was documented in 2024.
To deliver polio vaccination doses to the province’s ten and a half million children, 80,000 teams have been organised across Sindh.
During the launch of the anti-polio campaign in Karachi, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah stated that his government is committed to making the campaign a success and that it will be the final one of the year.
According to him, around 15,000 people have been sent out to protect polio workers throughout the province.
Additionally, the anti-polio campaign has begun in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. To make sure that 7.3 million youngsters receive the polio vaccine, 42,000 polio teams have been established.
